The devlin “stitch and glue” method is a superior way to build a wooden boat. it has been developed and refined here at devlin designing boat builders for almost 40 years, and has been adopted by other segments of the wooden boat industry.. Stitch and glue is a simple boat building method which uses plywood panels stitched together, usually with copper wire, and glued together with epoxy resin. this type of construction can eliminate much of the need for frames or ribs. Free stitch & glue boat plans; the stitch and glue boatbuilding method is an easy way for a beginner to make a plywood boat. how to build a stitch and glue boat, mark and cut. carefully measure and draw the various parts of your boat on your plywood. this is called lofting. (some plans actually give you full size plans). Basically, stitch and glue boats are constructed by gluing panels of plywood together using epoxy resin and fiberglass. the stitching is used to hold the panels in place while the glue is applied and allowed to cure..
